Digital consultancy named in LDC Top 50, WIRED Trailblazers and Scottish FinTech Awards shortlist

Waracle, a digital consultancy, and its CEO David Tuck have been recognised in a series of awards. Tuck has been selected as one of The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2026, alongside Waracle’s selection as a 2026 Trailblazer by WIRED Consulting in partnership with HSBC Commercial Banking, and a place on the finalist list for Financial Services Innovation at the Scottish Financial Technology Awards 2026.

The LDC Top 50 was created by private equity investor LDC, part of Lloyds Banking Group, in partnership with The Times, and has celebrated entrepreneurs since 2018. Out of 650 nominations this year, 50 entrepreneurs and business leaders were chosen for their appetite for growth, innovation, investing in their people, and building a more competitive UK economy. Together, their businesses generate £1.4bn in annual revenues and employ almost 8,500 people, headquartered in 55 towns and cities, according to the release.

Waracle has a team of over 330 working across five offices in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Sofia, Bulgaria. The company said it designs and engineers digital products across sectors including health, financial services, energy and the public sector, with a client roster that includes ScottishPower Energy Networks, Royal London, Roche, and People’s Partnership.

Following 30% turnover growth in 2025, Waracle said it has maintained commercial momentum in 2026, delivering over 30% organic revenue growth alongside ten major new client wins across the private and public sectors, supported by over 100 new hires. The company’s 2028 vision is to grow to 500 people working across the UK and Bulgaria, and hit £60m revenue.

David Tuck, CEO of Waracle, said: “Ambition is easy to claim and harder to demonstrate. For us it shows up in our digital product work, where the standards are exceptionally high. To be recognised for ambition, trailblazing and innovation at the same time is a credit to our people, and to our clients who trust us with their products.”

John Garner, Managing Partner at LDC, said: “What stands out about this year’s LDC Top 50 is not only what these leaders have already achieved, but their determination to keep moving forward. Across the UK, they are finding new opportunities, investing in their people and building for the future. I congratulate every leader featured this year and wish them continued success.”

The WIRED Trailblazers programme, delivered in partnership with HSBC UK, recognises small and medium-sized businesses that the scheme says are redefining industry standards through innovation, driving growth, and leading positive change. Waracle was chosen for its track record of delivering digital products, data, and AI solutions for organisations across the UK. David Tuck joined fellow honourees in London to celebrate the recognition and share insights on scaling up and the future of tech leadership.

Waracle has also been named a finalist for the Financial Services Innovation 2026 award at the Scottish Financial Technology Awards, alongside pension and savings partner Mylo from Aegon. The nomination, for work on “Postcards from tomorrow”, places the company alongside other finalists including BlackRock, JP Jenkins, and Lloyds Banking Group. The category recognises established financial services companies the awards describe as demonstrating success in using technology to drive improvement, innovation, or organisational transformation.
