Hydrogen has been appointed as social media agency for whisky brand Highland Park’s global social channels, following a competitive pitch process.

Part of the Edrington Group, award-winning single malt whisky brand Highland Park is distilled in Orkney, but is sold throughout the world, with a strong presence in areas such as the US, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Europe, as well as the UK.

Hydrogen will be responsible for the strategy, content and design for the brand’s global social pages, with particular focus on Highland Park’s three main pillars: people, places and whisky.

Wendy Harries Jones, Senior Brand Manager at Highland Park, said: “Hydrogen impressed us in early meetings and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team over the coming 12 months. 2019 is an exciting year for us at Highland Park, so we were looking to work with an agency that could really take our social profiles to the next level!”

Hydrogen, one of Scotland’s largest specialist social media agencies, also counts SSE, Subway, Worldwide Cancer Research and Crimestoppers among its clients.

Mike Scott, Managing Director of Hydrogen, added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be working with Highland Park. It’s a massive global brand with a lot of heritage and respect – we’re excited to showcase this on social media.

“Given that we’re just over two years old as a business, it’s amazing to add a brand with such kudos and international acclaim as Highland Park to our existing portfolio of great clients.”

The past 12 months has seen a huge period of growth for the agency, with staff numbers having doubled. On the back of this, the agency is set to move to a larger premise in the coming months.

Other recent account wins by Hydrogen include Terex Trucks, Murphy Wealth, Eyecademy and Allied Vehicles.
