BALFOUR+MANSON has strengthened its Commercial Disputes team by recruiting Daniel Bain as a Partner.
Daniel, previously a Legal Director at Shepherd+Wedderburn where he had been since he was a trainee, joined Gordon Deane and Dylan Mitchell in the team last week.
He specialises in commercial dispute resolution, focusing on property and contract disputes. He has extensive experience of advising clients on a wide range of contentious property and contractual matters, such as claims arising from property contracts, landlord and tenant disputes and title issues, having acted for a wide variety of clients in both the private and public sectors, including developers, housebuilders, commercial landlords and tenants, local authorities, and individuals.
Daniel also has extensive experience of advising on dispute resolution options and strategy, as well as conducting litigation in the courts (including the Court of Session, Sheriff Courts, and the Lands Tribunal for Scotland) and representing clients in arbitrations, expert determinations, and mediations. He said: “I’m really pleased to come on board and join the team at a great firm like Balfour+Manson. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.”
Elaine Motion, Executive Chairman of Balfour+Manson, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Daniel to the firm and feel he will be a huge asset to our Litigation Department.
“His recruitment continues our policy of seeking out top talent at all levels of the firm, with a strong focus on bringing in talented young partners who can really help drive the firm forward.”
Balfour+Manson reshaped its management structure earlier this year when Scott Foster, a long-standing banking relationship manager to professional services firms, joined as Chief Operating Officer.
Mr Foster said: “Balfour+Manson is in a positive and confident place and exciting hires like Daniel show that we really mean business.”
