Aberdeen Office Opening Precedes Record Month for New Business and Team Expansion
Phil Anderson Financial Services is celebrating a significant period of growth, highlighted by winning a national industry award, expanding its team, and recording its best-ever month for new business applications. The independent financial advice firm was named Best Independent Financial Advisory Firm 2026 – Scotland at the Wealth & Finance Investment Excellence Awards 2026. This period of success follows the opening of its new Aberdeen office at 52 Carden Place in early July, which preceded a record month for new business applications in August.
The move to the new Aberdeen office has strengthened the firm’s presence in the city. It has also been followed by further expansion of the Aberdeen team with the appointments of Farai Magodo as a Financial Planner and Cyprus Adams as a Trainee Financial Planner.
Farai Magodo brings valuable experience to the role, having previously worked with M&G Wealth and within an St. James’s Place practice. Cyprus Adams, 21, joins the profession directly from the University of Aberdeen, having recently completed a Master of Arts in Finance and Business. She will now begin her career in financial planning with the firm while working towards further professional qualifications and gaining practical experience alongside the company’s established advisers.
These latest appointments come as Phil Anderson Financial Services continues to grow across Scotland and the north of England. The firm provides independent financial advice across pensions, investments, mortgages, protection, and wider financial planning to individuals and families across the UK.
Managing Director Phil Anderson commented on the developments, stating: “It’s been a fantastic few months for the business. Winning Best Independent Financial Advisory Firm in Scotland is something the whole team can be extremely proud of, particularly as it recognises the hard work that goes on across the company.”
Mr Anderson added: “Opening our office at Carden Place was a major step for us and the response since we opened the doors in July has been excellent. Aberdeen has always been an important area for the business, so having a permanent base in the city gives us a great platform for the future.”

He continued: “We’re also delighted to welcome Farai and Cyprus to the team. Farai already has valuable experience within financial services and will be a great addition to our financial planning team. Cyprus is at the beginning of his career but comes to us with an excellent academic background, and we’re looking forward to helping her develop into a financial planner.”
Finally, Mr Anderson noted: “To then follow the office opening and award win with a record month for new business applications in August is particularly pleasing. We’ve continued to invest in our people and the business, and it’s great to see that translating into continued growth.”
