Chris Wozencroft to Lead Commercial Activities for Energy Infrastructure Projects
Global engineering and construction firm Burns & McDonnell has appointed Chris Wozencroft as Commercial Manager for Scotland, strengthening its U.K. operations. Based in the company’s Glasgow office, Mr. Wozencroft will support the delivery of major transmission and distribution projects across the country.
In his new role, Chris Wozencroft will lead commercial activities for Burns & McDonnell’s Scottish portfolio, with a specific focus on projects for Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission. He will oversee commercial processes, support project teams, and help to drive the continued growth of the business in Scotland’s energy infrastructure market.
Mr. Wozencroft brings extensive commercial management experience from multiple infrastructure sectors, including rail, water, construction, and energy.
Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, he served for five years as senior commercial manager at SPL Powerlines, where he supported Network Rail Scotland’s railway electrification and decarbonisation programme. His background also includes work across Scottish water frameworks, mechanical and electrical contracting, and major construction projects.
His focus will include supporting the growth of Burns & McDonnell’s commercial team in Scotland, strengthening client and supply chain partner relationships, and helping to secure future project opportunities.
Working with colleagues from the three Burns & McDonnell offices across the U.K., he will contribute to the successful delivery of critical transmission and distribution infrastructure projects. This appointment comes amid continued investment in Scotland’s electricity network, with demand for new transmission infrastructure increasing to support the country’s energy transition ambitions. As project pipelines expand, commercial leadership is considered essential for managing supply chain challenges, attracting industry talent, and delivering projects efficiently and safely.
