Great Taste, the world’s most trusted food and drink awards, has announced its stars of 2025 and St. Dalfour has been awarded two Great Taste accolades. Judged by The Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel, Black Cherry has been awarded an impressive 2-star accolade and Blackcurrant received a 1-star award, with the fruit spread named amongst the top food and drink producers globally this year.

14,340 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process and St. Dalfour’s Black Cherry was dubbed “a triumph… clean, clever and delicious”, while Blackcurrant received praise for its “jewel-like berries shining out of the jar and subtle berry notes on the nose” at the world’s most coveted food and drink awards. 3,899 products were awarded a Great Taste 1-star – ‘food and drink that delivers fantastic flavour’, 1,508 were awarded a Great Taste 2-star – ‘above and beyond delicious’, and 273 were awarded a Great Taste 3-star – ‘extraordinarily tasty food and drink’.

Handcrafted in France using an age-old recipe, Black Cherry is a luscious fruit spread made 100% with fruit, using whole black cherries gently cooked in small batches to preserve their texture and deep, rich flavour and sweetened only with vineyard grape and date juice concentrates – and was a huge hit with the judges.

Blackcurrant is crafted with the same care and artisanal precision as all of St. Dalfour’s preserves. Made in France using whole, plump blackcurrants, each batch is gently simmered to preserve the fruit’s vibrant tang and naturally intense flavour, with judges recommending trying with “a cheesecake or meringues”.

Rowland Hill, General Manager North Europe, St. Dalfour said: “We’re overjoyed that St. Dalfour has been recognised not once, but twice in this year’s Great Taste awards, sharing the stage with the world’s finest producers.

“St. Dalfour only uses fruit from the best quality growers, most of whom have worked with us directly for over 20 years, so this recognition means so much to our team, regional growers in France and is a testament to the quintessentially French methods we pride ourselves in preserving to create our Award-Winning taste.”

Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, the Great Taste accreditation scheme, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, values taste above all else. Each product in the line-up for judging is blind-tasted and all packaging is removed, so it cannot be identified, before entering a robust, layered judging process.

This year, judging took place over 110 days, with a panel of more than 500 judges putting entries to the test. The line-up saw food and drink products submitted from an extraordinary 110 different countries across the world.

This marks the second consecutive year St. Dalfour has been awarded by Great Taste, with Apricot recognised with a Great Taste 2-star in 2024. These awards join accolades from International Taste Institute, Gourmet de France and Monde Select.

St. Dalfour Black Cherry and Blackcurrant are both available to purchase from Ocado here. The full range of St. Dalfour is available on www.stdalfouruk.com.
