Siblings to expand Inverclyde dental practice following loan deal

A 25-year old family-run dental practice will now be growing the size of their business and relocating to a modern state-of-the-art facility in the listed Gourock municipal building, after securing support from Clydesdale Bank.
Having agreed a funding package of £150,000 from the bank, brother and sister Dr Fergus McClafferty and Dr Josephine Weir were able to recruit a new full-time dentist and dental therapist, enabling them to grow the practice from three surgeries to five. The brother and sister partnership will now be able to provide more NHS and private care to the local community.
Anthony Allen, Relationship Manager at Clydesdale Bank said: “We’re thrilled to be able to support Dr. McClafferty and Dr. Weir as they grow their successful practice. We believe that the community will benefit greatly from this. We look forward to working with other dental practices across the country as they build and invest for the future.
Dr. Weir said: “We are delighted to obtain funding from Clydesdale Bank. This has enabled us to relocate the practice to a bigger facility and invest in new equipment to provide better service to our community.”
