Hardies has been recommended for a £1,141,410 contract to survey all 12,645 of Dundee City Council’s social housing properties.
Councillors will consider the tender at a meeting of the Neighbourhood, Housing and Communities Committee on Monday 26 October. The proposed contract would run for two years, with extension options.
Eight tenders were returned following an open invitation through Public Contracts Scotland. The recommendation to appoint Hardies remains subject to committee approval.
The survey would cover the council’s entire housing stock, including external and internal structures and common parts. It would provide updated Scottish Housing Quality Standards and Energy Performance Certificate data.
The work would also record information on major components, including their remaining lifespans. The council intends to use the findings to plan future investment and direct spending towards improvements that would deliver the greatest benefit for tenants.
Lynne Short, depute convener of the Neighbourhood, Housing and Communities Committee, said: “This survey will give us an up-to-date assessment of the condition of all council properties.
