SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has secured the top spot in commercial property search expert NovaLoca’s annual disposals report for the second year in succession.

The report analysed 49,500 property adverts, comparing properties across all sectors: retail, industrial, leisure, office, and land.

The top five companies with the highest number of disposals accounted for 21% of all disposals, with Shepherd Commercial securing first place, accounting for 6.15% of disposals.

Steve Barnett, managing partner at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: “We’re delighted to receive this independent acknowledgement of the efforts made by our agents operating across our local branch network offering expert knowledge of the local and national markets, which is key to securing sales on behalf of our clients.

“This report illustrates that appointing an agent with strong geographical coverage across multiple sectors, operating within a national market whilst offering local market knowledge and sector specific expertise, is vital when advising on commercial property matters.

“This recognition is just reward for the manner in which the agency teams operating across the country have embraced new and innovative practices, such as video tours and our online commercial property auction service, which is now in its fourth year, having been established in 2020.

” In 2023 alone, our commercial property auction sold approximately 38.3% of all commercial auction lots sold in Scotland during 2023 year to date (source EIG) which clearly demonstrates that our quick and transparent on-line auction offers another route for our clients to consider when looking to dispose of an asset.

“None of the above could have been achieved without the continued support of our national and local client base and we are very grateful for their instructions throughout 2023 and confident that our level of commercial activity throughout Scotland will continue to accelerate throughout 2024.”
