Scottish comms agency targets expansion with new hires and office move

A Scottish communications agency has signalled ambitious future growth plans by adding five new members of staff to its roster and moving into new offices on Edinburgh’s Queen Street.

Orbit’s announcement follows a series of recent new business wins and the addition of a full range of design services in autumn last year. As a result, the company can now provide an integrated PR, public affairs and design offering, all under one roof in new offices at 4 Queen Street, the former home of the BBC in Edinburgh.

Bringing a broad range of skills and experience across a variety of sectors including tourism, food and drink, housing and technology, the new team members are

  • Jessica Leslie – Trainee Account Executive
  • Roslyn Ivatt – Trainee Marketing Executive
  • Sarah Mooney – Account Manager
  • Kyle McPartlin – Designer
  • Sally Trethewie – Account Director

Orbit Managing Director Alex Orr said: “With these new appointments, we’ve been able to bring significant new strength and depth to our existing team. As a result, we can now offer a comprehensive and creative package incorporating PR, public affairs, digital and design services –  all under one roof. As our growing client list shows, it’s an offer that is proving really attractive in the marketplace and bodes well for the company’s continued future expansion.”

Director Graeme Downie said: “The new additions to our team bring a wealth of experience and knowledge working in key sectors that include food and drink, tourism and new technology. These are key growth sectors for the Scottish economy and we look forward to making full use of their varied skills as we seek to continuously improve the services we are able to offer existing clients – and to attract new ones.”

Director Alex Bruce commented: “This has been an important period of transition for Orbit and it’s really great to be able to welcome so much fresh new talent into the team at this critical stage of our company’s evolution. As our client list continues to grow, we want to demonstrate what a terrific skillset that team has to offer – but also that we’re a genuinely fun and friendly team to work with.”
