GLASGOW-based firm, Blackhall & Powis, who provide renewable energy project services, has hailed exponential growth over the last 18 months with record turnover and team expansion.
The business, which specialises in services to develop and assemble land rights for green energy, infrastructure and utilities projects, is on track to turn over £4.5 million in 2023 – significantly ahead of its five-year business plan to achieve a turnover of £7 million by 2027.
Providing clients with a one-stop shop for land assembly services including community engagement, planning support and property transaction management, Blackhall & Powis offers clients a bespoke web-based GIS portal which can be tailored to their project requirements. This provides clients with a robust tool for tracking the progress of their operations, enabling them to gain a better understanding of their land or project.
Enabled by a £200,000 funding package from UKSE – a subsidiary of Tata Steel – Blackhall & Powis has recently introduced new specialist services in the team including a unique Fisheries Liaison Service. This complements the land and planning teams to support the negotiation of seabed leases with The Crown Estate and its management of offshore assets and stakeholders.
Founded in 2017 by John Hillis, the team has grown to 44 with plans to expand headcount by 65 over the next 12 months. Having supported approximately 150 renewable energy projects to date, the 20 largest projects in the firm’s portfolio has saved 14.6 million tonnes of harmful gases entering the atmosphere.
Headquartered in Glasgow and with offices in Inverness, York and Tunbridge Wells, Blackhall & Powis operates across the UK and Northern Ireland and is now eyeing international opportunities, with a project in America secured.
