Scottish holiday park operator completes refinancing with Virgin Money, Andrew Howe becomes Non-Executive Chairman.
Largo Leisure Parks (“Largo”), a Scottish owner and operator of premium holiday parks, has announced the appointment of Mike Wilmot as its new Group Chief Executive Officer. Andrew Howe, who has led the business as Executive Chairman since 2022, will continue in a Non-Executive Chairman role.
Mr Wilmot brings extensive experience from the UK holiday park sector, having most recently served as Chief Executive of Verdant Leisure. Prior to that, he spent sixteen years in senior finance positions at Parkdean and Parkdean Resorts.
In addition to the executive appointment, Largo has completed a refinancing of its banking facilities with Virgin Money. The company stated that these new facilities are intended to provide added financial backing to accelerate its growth towards becoming a premium regional park operator of scale.
Mike Wilmot commented on his appointment, saying: “I’m delighted and excited to be joining Largo. It is a wonderful group of six stunning Scottish holiday parks, and I’m honoured to be working with such an excellent team. Andrew and the team have built strong foundations, and with the backing of Limerston and the support of Virgin Money, we are well placed for the next chapter. I’m looking forward to playing my part in growing this successful business into a leading premium park operator.”

Largo currently operates six parks across Fife, Perthshire, and Stirlingshire, situated in what it describes as some of Scotland’s most sought-after locations. The group has invested significantly in its parks since 2022 and has added Cruachan and Campsie Glen to its portfolio. Largo announced it will continue to seek new additions to its family of parks as it grows.
Andrew Howe added: “Our ambition has always been to build a premium Scottish park group of real quality and scale. Bringing in a Chief Executive of Mike’s experience, alongside a new long term banking partner in Virgin Money, marks an important step in that journey. I’m very much looking forward to working with Mike as we take Largo forward.”
