Backed by venture capital firm Par Equity, the company is well known in the Scottish tech scene and renowned globally for their innovative spherical display systems. Pufferfish is now poised to power the next phase of transformative growth to meet demand for their solutions from the geo-spatial and data-visualisation sectors, transforming their products into business intelligence tools.
Having already secured 40% of their target by day three of the month-long campaign, the company is hoping to join Crowdcube’s elite ‘over-funded’ club, which includes runaway success stories like Brewdog and Monzo.
According to CTO and Founder Will Cavendish, “Pufferfish already have an impressive legacy, built on the demand for our pioneering technology, which has seen us become leaders in our field, working with some of the world’s biggest brands, scientists and institutions.
“This investment will allow us to build a partner network to service the demand for our products worldwide, grow our team and transform our space into a sophisticated R&D and production centre. In turn, paving the way for the launch of four innovative new products.”
CEO Angus MacFadyen has already overseen a dramatic change in business models at the company, increasing the software, content and service revenues dramatically and underpinning on-going revenue streams with the company’s key corporate clients.
