An Aberdeen-based energy industry service company has invested a six-figure investment along with the launch of a new hydraulics division and a key distributor agreement.

Pressure Test Solutions Ltd (PTS) has invested £250,000 in a new hydraulics and pneumatics products division which complements existing company services by offering hose assemblies and hose fittings for use on and offshore.

Established in 2008, the business specialises in rental, sales and calibration of equipment to the energy industry from its base in Denmore Industrial Estate, Bridge of Don.

The company focuses on five key niche specialist areas: Pressure test equipment and instrumentation rental; hazardous area equipment rental; radio communications equipment; flushing units and hose reelers, and now the supply of hydraulic and pneumatic products, including Hammer Unions.

About to enter its tenth year of business, PTS has steadily grown to become a leading player in the North Sea and international markets by continually investing in equipment, support services and its people.

As part of the investment, the company has also purchased hose assembly equipment and employed three members of staff to support the new division, including Ian Reid who has 25 years industry experience and will act as manager.

The business has also secured a key distributor agreement with MCS Hydraulics UK Ltd which gives PTS access to the full range of products from both MCS and the FB Group based in Italy. The company has also acquired new premises for the hydraulics and pneumatics division in the Bridge of Don.

Gary Notman, managing director of PTS, said: “It has taken twelve months to plan this significant investment in the company and we are delighted that our new hydraulics and pneumatics division is up and running.

“As well as offering a new product line which complements our existing services, the investment will help us to service offshore markets around the world.

“It is important that we continue to grow, and our new distributor agreement with MCS Hydraulics, one of the premium brands in the industry, will put us in front of a large market which will be a huge benefit to the business.

“We hold a large amount of stock in Aberdeen, including the ability to make up hose assembly products and supply fittings. Because of this we’re in a unique position to service companies based in the north-east, and beyond, as no-one else in the local market has the breadth of products we can supply.”
