Online Electronics Group, a specialist in the design and manufacture of pipeline pig monitoring equipment and high-tech pipeline data communication systems, has taken an 11,800 sq ft unit in Blackburn Industrial Estate on a five year lease.
Iain Landsman, associate director in CBRE Aberdeen, who acted for Online Electronics commented: “It’s great news that we can confirm the relocation of Online Electronics.
“The downturn in the Aberdeen economy over recent years has led to an increase in supply of industrial units. So for an occupier looking to relocate, the upside of the current local economic climate is that there is a much wider and better quality offering available and many landlords are willing to offer extremely competitive packages. Essentially, there has never been a better time to relocate premises in Aberdeen and we were able to use the market factors to the advantage of Online Electronics.”
John Walsh, finance director of Online Electronics Group, said: “Having fundamentally restructured the core business model to meet the challenges of the downturn and introduced a new, leading edge Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, NAV 16, on schedule and on budget, we have been able to position the Group to take advantage of further growth and opportunities. This is largely due to the hard work of all our staff here and the support of our parent company, IK-Norway AS. Moving to our new facility at Blackburn with the assistance of CBRE is yet another important development in the continued success and burgeoning reputation of the Online Electronics Group worldwide.”
CBRE represented Online Electronics Group whilst FG Burnett acted for the landlord, Colin Millum.
