Surge in pet ownership establishes Stocky & Dee as a key player in the market as they’re set to grow 50% on last year

SCOTTISH family-owned brand, Stocky & Dee, has announced its most successful year to date following a surge in pet ownership and 50% growth in turnover.

Adding to the brand’s key milestones the team secured a listing with Anthropologie in six stores & online.

The company are now estimated to be worn by over 10,000 dogs worldwide with their green & dove design being the most popular accounting for over 10% of sales this year. As well as an uptake in collars, they’ve also seen an appetite for harnesses and more recently their doggy snoods, with Miniature Dachshunds and Spaniels being their top customers.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Mairi and Chris Robb, the pair have ambitious goals set for the coming year with a target of a further 50% growth increase.

After establishing a presence in the US, the brand is also looking to expand the brand into new international territories, such as China and Japan, both having a high population of household dogs, and grow their wholesale presence considerably in 2022.

Stocky & Dee founder, Mairi Robb said; “Despite a challenging environment for many businesses, we’ve been able to be resilient and establish ourselves in a busy market.

“We continued to see the market grow with more people reaping the rewards dogs can have on our lives. We’ve worked hard on designing products that compliment dogs and not take over, ensuring they’re both stylish and functional. We’ve got lots of exciting plans coming up for next year but following the demand and positive feedback we’ve received we believe are plans for the business are completely achievable.”

Building on their exclusive range, two new accessories will be joining the catalogue of luxury products with the latest addition of pillow dog beds being available for preorder. Each product is handmade and built to order in their Edinburgh studio with high quality, UK sourced yarns to create recognisable designs.

Stocky & Dee are currently supported by two full time textile employees and have plans for further recruitment next year as well as supporting more charity initiatives. The new ‘Renew and Recycle’ program tries ensure that no Stocky & Dee products is sent to landfill. As they create each piece by hand, they have unique ability to reuse materials that might otherwise be thrown away, whether it’s upcycling or repairing and sending on to dog homes as donations to continue the lifecycle.
