Brewin Dolphin appoints Johnny McGlynn as head of office for Edinburgh

BREWIN Dolphin has appointed Johnny McGlynn as its new head of office for Edinburgh.

He joined Brewin Dolphin in 2009 as head of financial planning for Edinburgh, a role he held for five years before becoming head of business development and growth for the office. Johnny graduated from Edinburgh University before qualifying as a financial planner.

Johnny takes over from Marc Wilkinson who is now regional managing director – Scotland overseeing the Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen offices as well as performing his groupwide head of wealth governance role

Hal Catherwood, regional managing director – UK and Ireland, said: “This is the culmination of continued progress within the Edinburgh office and across the Scottish region. Johnny has helped drive our financial planning, business development and growth in new funds and client numbers. As Johnny takes over as head of office, I’d like to thank Marc for all his work and wish him continued success in his broader roles.”

The company recently announced a strong start to its financial year with growth across both its direct and indirect business. Total funds grew to £51.4bn, higher than pre-COVID levels.
