TRC, a Glasgow-based training provider for broadcast and digital, has announced the selected candidates for Cross Creative – a high-end training programme for Scottish business leaders working in digital and tech looking to gain a competitive edge and take their business to the next level. Funded by Scottish Enterprise, BBC, Channel 4 and Creative Scotland, Cross Creative has been running since 2007 and has supported almost 100 leaders from Scotland’s thriving digital sector.

The programme launches in November and runs over a six-month period, with monthly workshops focusing on business issues ranging from effective negotiation to creative company culture and scaling up. Cross Creative concludes with an international business trip to Canada’s famous Toronto-Waterloo Region Corridor, giving participants the unparalleled opportunity to gain access to some of the best digital companies in the world.

The selected delegates for the 2018/19 programme are:

Anne Brooks, Founder and CEO of Minute HR

Brian Baglow, Co-Founder and CEO of Jukebox Labs

James MacIver, Senior Technical Lead at Streamba Ltd

Jemma Goba, Founder and Managing Partner of Tanami

Jo Watts, Founder of Effini

Martin Boath, Creative Director at Front Page

Scott Downie, Chief Technology Officer of TAG Games

Tom Demajo, Founder and Director of Biome Collective

Claire Scally and Margaret Scott, Joint Managing Directors of TRC said:

“Once again, we were hugely impressed by the standard of applications for Cross Creative – highlighting the wealth of talent in Scotland’s thriving digital sector. The selected candidates come from a wide range of companies across the sector, and we’re confident that they’ll learn as much from each other as from the professional trainers and industry leaders delivering the training.”

Daniel Rae, a delegate of last year’s Cross Creative and Co-Founder of Social Media Agency Hydrogen said:

“There are initiatives out there for people trying to get a business off the ground, but training for business owners or senior people in a company is hard to come by. Cross Creative opens the door to networking with your peers, hands-on experience and international exposure. I don’t think anything else out there compares to it.”
