DUMFRIES and Galloway College Principal, Joanna Campbell, has been shortlisted in multiple categories at this year’s Director of the Year Awards.

The yearly awards, organised by the Institute of Directors (IoD), seek to acknowledge and reward individuals for their accomplishments in senior leadership roles.

The Principal has been shortlisted in the Director of the Year – Public Sector, Director of the Year – Sustainability, and Regional Director – South of Scotland Award categories.

The South of Scotland college welcomes its Principal’s nominations and is especially happy to see her acknowledged for leading on its work in sustainability, which has been a major focus for her since coming into the role.

Under her guidance, the college has launched its Green Skills Academy, Green Energy Hub, and Climate Action Plan that commits it to achieving net zero by 2030.

The winners will be announced during an online awards ceremony on 9 December.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“I am thrilled to be shortlisted for these awards and take it both as a massive personal compliment and as recognition of what we’ve achieved as a team at Dumfries and Galloway College.

“The IoD is a respected institution across the country and so to have their acknowledgement for what we’ve accomplished is simply wonderful.

“I look forward to attending the online awards ceremony and wish all my fellow finalists all the very best of luck.”
