Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA has strengthened its Scottish team with the appointment of a new tax director based in Edinburgh.

David Doherty, who has more than 30 years’ experience, is providing tax advice to private clients, including personal tax and trusts, capital gains tax and inheritance tax compliance and advisory services.

This covers a variety of industries including agriculture, healthcare, real estate and professional practices.

MHA is the 13th largest accountancy group in the UK and, in Scotland, has offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Lachlan Fernie, partner in Edinburgh, said: “David’s appointment further strengthens the offering MHA has in Edinburgh and across Scotland. He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge on all personal tax matters and is having a positive impact on the services we offer to our clients. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

ATT (Association of Tax Technicians) qualified, David takes great pride in providing an expert service to clients, covering tax compliance and consultancy advice, protecting them against risk.

MHA has a great reputation. It’s a firm that believes in its staff and values personal development and progression. Offering clients an exceptional service across my areas of expertise is hugely important to me.”

David, who cites golf, walking and watching rugby as his hobbies outside of work, previously worked at Augustine Tax Limited in London.
