More than 30% of 2026 sales have come through the firm’s referral process
Glasgow auction house Prime Property Auctions has appointed David McGinty as Business Development Manager to spearhead its next phase of growth. He is based in Forth, South Lanarkshire, and joins from a similar role in the mining sector.
A key focus of the role will be developing the firm’s referral process, with the company saying more than 30% of the properties sold in 2026 have come via this method. A new portal has recently been launched to support this.
“The way he has hit the ground running shows we have found the right person for this position,” said John Morris, who established Prime in 2022. “David has really taken to the role and although he has joined from a different sector, the fact he is a property investor himself has helped him settle in quickly.
“I’ve told him I want him to be known as ‘David from Prime’ and it’s so far so good with people going to him rather than myself and that’s exactly what I need to happen to allow me to keep working on the business as it grows.”
The company recently moved into a bigger headquarters on the south side of Glasgow and is on track to record a turnover of £3 million in a financial year for the first time, according to the release.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of what’s happening at Prime,” said Mr McGinty. “It’s still a young business which is very much in a growth phase and that is one of the main things that appealed to me. With my skillset and experience, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to come in and build on the momentum the guys have already established.
“From the outside, Prime looked like it had a great environment to work in and now that I have come on board, it’s even better than I thought.
“It’s such a nice welcoming family-like environment. John and his business partner Luis (Guarin) are friends but we know there is work to be done and that certain standards have to be upheld and targets to be met.”
He added: “I’m really excited at what we’re building here. A lot of people still have misconceptions about auction coming from a lack of knowledge and understanding, or a previous bad experience. I’m here to remove any fears that may exist.

“Extending the referral network is also big part of the role. It has served the business well up to now but we are taking it to the next level with the new platform we have introduced. It automates things a lot more but we will always retain a personal touch as well.
“We firmly believe that personal relationships will be key to our success going forward and that is how we will differentiate ourselves as we continue to strive to become the UK’s go-to property auction house.”
