KPMG UK has appointed Jo Thomson to lead its Edinburgh operation, taking over as office senior partner at Saltire Court with responsibility for a team of more than 400 people. She also becomes the firm’s public sector lead for Scotland, succeeding Arleen Arnott.
Thomson, who has spent over six years with KPMG advising on large-scale transformation, said the role marks a “full-circle” moment in her career and welcomed the chance to deepen the firm’s work with clients across Scotland.
KPMG has also strengthened its tax practice in the capital with the return of Stuart Thomson as corporate tax partner from Johnston Carmichael. With more than 25 years’ experience, he will focus on family-owned and private-equity-backed businesses, working closely with teams in Glasgow and Aberdeen.
