Sanderson Plc, one of the UK’s largest independent recruitment organisations, are celebrating the second anniversary of the opening of their Glasgow office.

Sanderson’s second Scottish office was opened in March 2017 and specialises in Finance, Technology, Professional Services and Business Change recruitment.

Through a combination of infrastructure investment, funding and support for start-ups, Glasgow has grown to a national centre for the Tech industry and the city is attracting a new wave of talent and entrepreneurship. Companies such as Barclays and PWC as well as the public sector have announced expansion plans that seek to increase the number of jobs locally and create an influx of investment.

In response to this, Sanderson’s Glasgow branch has found that there has been a surge in the local market for Tech, Change and Professional Services roles in particular.

Thanks to this growth, in the past year, the team has grown to 6 members of staff and boasts a 100% staff retention rate. In terms of business wins, the team has won 16 new clients supported on permanent hires, run 14 exclusive campaigns with a 100% success rate and have placed 159 contractors. Their turnover is expected to exceed £8.24m, up from £5.58m in 2017/18. This is a growth of nearly 50% (47.7%).

The success of Sanderson’s Scottish function (across the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices) is reflected by them having recently been shortlisted for the 2019 s1 Awards for the ‘Best Recruitment Agency’ award. The winner will be announced on the 11th April during a dinner ceremony.

Craig Bryce, Glasgow’s Regional Manager said:

“It’s been a great two years in Glasgow where we’ve hit the ground running and firmly established ourselves in the region by building up a solid core customer base. We’d like to thank our valued clients and customers for supporting us over the years and we’re looking forward to continuing our growth throughout 2019 and beyond.”

Jon Ball, Sanderson’s Managing Director said:

“The success of our Glasgow office has been a great experience for us all at Sanderson. Their amazing statistics are exemplary of the team’s hard work and dedication in building the office from the ground up. Glasgow is an incredibly important city in particular with regards to IT and Digital growth and we’re excited to see how Sanderson Glasgow grows further as the city continues to evolve.”
