GLASGOW Memory Clinic, Scotland’s leading Alzheimer’s clinical research centre, has completed a seven-figure move to a new world-class “centre of excellence” where it will expand studies.

Eurocentral is the new headquarters for Glasgow Memory Clinic, the independent research organisation engaged in national and international studies that seek to find better treatments for those with memory impairment, Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.

Formerly based at Glasgow’s West of Scotland Science Park, Glasgow Memory Clinic first identified the new site just east of Glasgow pre-Covid, made the initial move in June 2020 and then this year, with the relaxing of most restrictions, has been able to complete a full transition to its new home.

Founded in 1999, Glasgow Memory Clinic has over the years generated significant revenue and many high quality research positions, with a substantial investment made at Eurocentral to create a centre of excellence in clinical research and support future development.

Alison Cranmer, Director of Glasgow Memory Clinic, said: “Everyone at Glasgow Memory Clinic is delighted to complete the move to Excel House at Eurocentral. This superb new home more than adequately meets our current needs as well as making excellent provision for the future. Eurocentral offers an excellent location, within the central belt, on the edge of Glasgow, closer to Edinburgh and with 3.5 million people within a one-hour drive – so it ticks all the boxes as well as opening up much greater potential for future expansion and diversification of our studies into Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases.”

“This is the largest site in Scotland, and – we believe – the UK, that is dedicated to running clinical trials in the field of Alzheimer’s disease. Indeed, in European terms, we are not aware of a larger independent site. Glasgow Memory Clinic’s move to this state-of-the-art facility at Eurocentral and increased footprint with significant growth potential, provides the perfect platform and opportunity to further develop our research model.”

The clinic currently has 18,000 square feet of dedicated research space, and an expanding team of 36 staff. From its new Eurocentral headquarters, Glasgow Memory Clinic expects to make a number of important announcements imminently, as it rolls out further studies and continues to pioneer.
