Finalists announced for 2018 AccelerateHER Awards

Nine female-led companies representing Tayside, Falkirk, Glasgow and Edinburgh have been shortlisted as Growth category finalists for this year’s AccelerateHER Awards.

They include Dundee-based on-line diabetes management support business, My Diabetes My Way; Cascade Water Products, an Arbroath-based manufacturer of domestic micro greywater re-use systems; and Little Riot, a company founded by a Dundee University design graduate whose technology enables people to connect via their heartbeats.

Falkirk-based uFraction8, a business which makes scalable filtration systems for the bi-technology sector and Glasgow-based TeqNox, designers of body protection for equestrian sports, also made the short list.

They are joined by four Edinburgh-based finalists: Craft Design House, an aggregator of leading and emerging craft and design studios; IntelliDigest, a manufacturer of a new anaerobic food waste digestion systems; Sustainably, developers of a real time social responsibility platform; and CogniHealth, an online dementia caring solution. 

The winners of awards, which recognise women-led businesses in Scotland, will be announced on 8 March at the at the Investing Women Ambition and Growth conference in Edinburgh. Six winners will secure a place on an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai in April or to California in September. In addition to the Growth category, a number of up and coming female entrepreneurs are also vying for the Ambition category award, which will also be revealed at the forthcoming conference. 

Now in their third year, the awards, sponsored by Skyscanner, are open to businesswomen whose companies demonstrate strong growth potential. The competition provides an ideal platform for participants to attract investment into their businesses.
