Ambitious growth plans for Malting House with new marketing director appointment

Dundee based graphic design studio The Malting House has appointed a new marketing director following business owner Wendy Maltman’s graduation from the inaugural FGIC (Famous Grouse Idea Centre) Elevator Creative Accelerator programme.

Debbie Hutchison joins the firm as marketing director and will play a key part in developing the growth of the business. With over 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing, most recently championing local rising stars Merlin ERD to achieve double Queen’s Awards success, Debbie is delighted to be helping another outstanding SME to fulfil its potential.

She explains ‘The Malting House Design Studio excels at creating strategic and distinctive design solutions and this excellent company is perfectly placed to make the most of this exciting time for creative businesses in Tayside.’

Star Marketing award-nominated studentIona Sorbie joins the team as Intern for the busy summer period. The talented 3rd year Graphic Design student from leading Dundee art college, Duncan of Jordanstone, fought off stiff competition for the role in the award-winning team. Creative Director Wendy explains ‘Iona’s portfolio is first class. Her creative abilities and wide range of skills will be a great asset to the studio, which is fantastic news for our clients’.

Having expanded the team and taken on new contracts across Scotland, entrepreneur Wendy is looking forward to growing the client base and the business. As she explains: ‘I’m keen to put the learning from the last 12 weeks, and the 15 years I’ve been in business, to good use! With a great team on board, we’ve now got grand designs on the future.’
