Whilst Jarvie Plant’s equipment can be found on construction sites all over the UK, its growing supply of plant to festivals and events underlines the diversity of their hire portfolio.
This summer the Grangemouth-based firm dispatched generators, tower lights, mini buses, welfare vans, grass tyre straight masted forklifts, telehandlers and access platforms to a range of events and festivals across Scotland and the north of England.
And with a network of 9 hire depots including a new facility in Manchester, their first south of the border, they say the geographic spread of their facilities is attractive to customers in this sector.
“Our business is synonymous with supplying plant and equipment to construction sites, but we can also do so much more,” explains Jarvie Plant’s sales director Ian Hutchison.
“We are seeing an increased demand from event organisers for our high quality equipment, so we very much regard this as a growth area.”
In July, Jarvie Plant supplied handling and access equipment to the Scottish Open and the Scottish Ladies Open at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, whilst also sending kit to the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
“The forklift’s ability to have minimal impact on turfed areas, such as greens and fairways, was particularly appealing to the customer,” explained Mr Hutchison.
Also playing a vital role at these major golf tournaments were mini buses and vans used to shuttle competitors, course volunteers and staff to areas in and around the golf course.
Accommodation, generators, power stores and tower lights were utilised extensively at last month’s Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival.
Meanwhile, access platforms, ideal for rigging stage lighting, proved to be robust operators at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow Green, Rewind Festival at Scone Palace and the Tartan Heart Festival on the Belladrum Estate in Beauly.
“It’s been an extremely busy summer for us with our depots literally hiring out kit to all our regions,” added Mr Hutchison.
