BrewDog reveals plans to establish an Australian brewery

BrewDog has appointed former HR director Zarah Prior to identify potential locations for an Australian brewery.
The company is tapping into their Australian shareholder community to help them find a suitable location and to assist with potential planning and legal issues.
Earlier this year the company sold a 22% stake to US private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners for £213 million valuing the company at over £1 billion.

Sales rose 61% in 2016 to £71.8m, boosting its pre-tax profits by 8% to £3.76m.
The firm also has plans to open a brewery in Asia in response to surging demand in the Far East.

The new Australian brewery is more than likely going to be located in the Brisbane and Newcastle areas of Eastern Australia and will be the company’s third, following the establishment of a £23 million brewery in Columbus Ohio in February.
BrewDog has recently branched into spirits with the launch of Lone Wolf, its new brand to develop a range of vodkas, whiskies and gins.
