Partnership Aims to Connect Scottish Business Leaders with Trusted Legal Expertise

BTO Solicitors LLP has formed a new corporate partnership with Entrepreneurial Scotland, becoming its exclusive legal partner. The collaboration aims to strengthen both organisations’ commitment to supporting ambitious leaders and fostering the growth of Scottish businesses.

The partnership will integrate BTO closer into Entrepreneurial Scotland’s community, which includes founders, chief executives, and senior business leaders, alongside members of The Exchange peer-support programme. BTO intends to contribute legal insight and practical expertise to this community, while also creating opportunities for valuable connections, shared learning, and collaboration.

Sean McGrath, CEO of Entrepreneurial Scotland, commented on the new partnership: “BTO brings extensive legal and commercial expertise, a strong commitment to Scotland’s business community and a collaborative approach that fits closely with our values. We are delighted to welcome the firm as our exclusive legal partner and look forward to working together to support the leaders who will drive Scotland’s future expansion.”

Entrepreneurial Scotland supports entrepreneurially minded leaders, helping them build the belief, mindset, and connections necessary to accelerate their development and Scotland’s growth. Its initiatives include The Exchange, a peer-support programme for founders, chief executives, and senior leaders to share experience, insight, and knowledge in a trusted environment.

Grant Hunter, BTO’s Managing Partner, highlighted the shared objectives of the two organisations: “Entrepreneurial Scotland shares our belief that ambition, strong relationships and practical support can unlock potential. This partnership gives us an opportunity to contribute to a community of leaders who are building businesses, creating jobs and strengthening Scotland’s economy.” He added: “As Entrepreneurial Scotland’s exclusive legal partner, we will be a trusted and accessible source of advice for its members throughout the business journey. Just as importantly, we will listen, learn and help members make valuable connections that support their ambitions.”

Jen Paton, a Corporate Partner who will lead the partnership for BTO, further explained the firm’s role: “Good advice starts with understanding the business, its owners and what they want to achieve. As businesses grow and scale, BTO can support them through the opportunities and challenges that arise, whether that involves raising investment, making an acquisition, strengthening key contracts or managing wider legal risks.” Ms Paton stated: “I am looking forward to working closely with Entrepreneurial Scotland and its members to build lasting relationships, share our expertise and help ambitious businesses move forward.”

Through this collaboration, BTO aims to put its values – positive, supportive, brave, and insightful – into practice by assisting Entrepreneurial Scotland’s members in building connections, navigating opportunities, and achieving their aspirations.
