Richard Lind joins the Decom Mission board of Directors

ASHTEAD Technology’s Richard Lind has been appointed as a member of the Decom Mission board of directors.

Richard is General Manager of Ashtead Technology’s mechanical solutions facility in Aberdeenshire which provides specialist subsea equipment, solutions and services for the offshore decommissioning sector. With over three decades of experience, Richard has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in subsea infrastructure removal and well decommissioning having held various senior positions at Claxton, Proserv and Baker Hughes, prior to joining Ashtead Technology in 2020.

Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: “Decommissioning is fast becoming a necessity and will play a significant role in the decarbonisation of the energy sector. The work by Decom Mission is crucial to enhancing these efforts through continuing to put the challenges and opportunities of the decommissioning sector on a centre stage. 

“Through ongoing investment in our people, technologies and facilities we have significantly bolstered our decommissioning offering over the years and with one of the largest fleets of decommissioning tools and systems in the market, Ashtead Technology is at the forefront of this growing sector.

“I am thrilled to have been appointed to the board at Decom Mission as we work together with our members and the supply chain to support the sustainable future of this exciting industry.”

Decom Mission is a trade organisation focused on the international decommissioning energy sector.Richard was nominated onto the Decom Mission board following a period of time spent as the chair of the organisation’s Special Interest Group on diversification.
