£1m of Kebabs served-up each week at GDK

Scottish fast-casual restaurant operator German Doner Kebab is serving-up £1 million of Kebabs every single week.

The gourmet kebab chain is responding to growing demand for its high-quality healthy kebabs.

The brand is one of the UK’s fastest growing restaurant chains with 33 outlets opened during the past two years.

The rise of the fast-casual dining experience sees busy consumers moving away from traditional restaurant dining towards the fast-casual dining concept.

GDK has recognised Generation Z as a key audience for the growing brand, identifying intense demand from this demographic in the UK.

Consumers no longer need to compromise on quality for convenience as fast-casual dining offers great customer service and better-quality ingredients.

As demand continues to grow and with weekly sales now hitting over £1m, the brand is set to open a further 14 new stores by the end of the year, resulting in UK-wide investment and job creation throughout the country.

German Doner Kebab is part of the Hero Brands group and has a growth pipeline of 350 sold units in place over the next seven years.

GDK CEO Imran Sayeed said: “It’s incredible to be hitting £1m kebab sales a week as we respond to growing demand for our kebabs.

“Our idea of bringing a gourmet kebab that is healthy and nutritionally balanced has been a massive hit with UK consumers, and this has been reflected in the huge growth we have already achieved in the past two years.”

“Eating out is changing and Gen Z is demanding better, healthier food but still at a great price.

“We’re happy to meet growing demand and offer the GDK fast casual experience to even more consumers throughout the country.”

German Doner Kebab, part of the Hero Brands Group, currently operates stores in the UK, Sweden, Dubai, Abu-Dhabi, Oman and Bahrain.
