A Scottish technology firm has agreed a new strategic partnership that will provide comprehensive communications solutions to businesses and other users across the UK.

SureVoIP is a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) provider that specialises in using the internet to deliver telecoms – more commonly known as voice-over internet protocol (VoIP).

The Aberdeen-based company, which is a network operator with its own equipment in Edinburgh and London, has been selected by state-of-the-art gigabit fibre network provider, Grain Connect Ltd, as its new VoIP partner.

The new deal has already seen an initial 500 business customers migrated across to the SureVoIP network over a five-week period, increasing the firm’s customer base by 40%. It is expected that the partnership will attract further customers for both businesses in the months ahead.

This collaborative approach has resulted in greater performance and reliability for calls and consistently high service delivery for Grain’s clients. In addition, the two businesses will share intelligence on a range of industry sectors and identify new ways of working.

Gavin Henry, managing director at SureVoIP, said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement with Grain and welcome the opportunity to combine our respective service offerings to create a package that will ultimately benefit customers.

“Not only were we selected based on the strength of our network, but we have taken over 500 customers and migrated them seamlessly, including number porting and provisioning, which was a big win for the team.

“It gives us great assurance that respected companies in the industry, like Grain, trust us to look after the needs of their own customers. This is an exciting time for SureVoIP as we make inroads into new geographical markets with the potential to expand this offering throughout other parts of the UK.”

With sites nationwide, Grain builds and operates hyperfast reliable fibre networks that provide users with guaranteed download speeds up to 35 times faster than the UK average – including the new £800million development at Countesswells, Aberdeen.

Antony Cross, engineering director at Grain Connect Ltd, said: “We decided to partner with SureVoIP based on the strength of its peered VoIP network, which is among the best in the UK. We look forward to working together with Gavin and his team to strengthen this relationship as we add further development to our network.”

Established in 2011, SureVoIP services the VoIP telephony requirements of more than 1,700 companies of varying size, from multinational oil majors to national charities. The company is a carrier-grade VoIP provider and delivers its service over the firm’s own wholly owned and managed systems – providing clients with the reassurance of a UK-based technical support team.

In 2016, SureVoIP won the Best Business ITSP (Medium Enterprise) honour at the ITSPA Awards and was also a finalist in the Best Business ITSP (Corporate) and Best VoIP Infrastructure categories. The business received further recognition from the ITSPA when it was awarded the organisation’s coveted Quality Mark in recognition of SureVoIP’s innovative approach to business communications.
