Aurora Tallon (Women in Property Central Scotland Chair 2023)

AURORA Tallon, of Threesixty Architecture has been appointed Branch Chair of Women in Property Central Scotland.  She takes on the role on 1 March for one year, with a remit to continue to grow and evolve the branch.

Aurora is an Architect based in the Threesixty Architecture Glasgow studio and originally from Madrid. She joined the practice in 2013 for a short international internship and has stayed on since. Focussed on the social and environmental impact of design, she has been a member of Women in Property since 2015 and joined the central Scotland committee in 2019.

In both her professional life and her involvement in the committee and the national inclusion group, Aurora is committed to the ethos behind Women in Property.

“Everything Women in Property is about aligns with the principles of inclusion, community and social value.  We have always been committed to encourage diversity and an equitable society, so what a great time to be taking on the branch Chair role, coinciding with worldwide International Women’s Day celebrations!

“Since joining the inclusion group back in 2020, this has been one of my key drivers, so this year my focus will be on inclusivity, to keep raising awareness and not forget that there is still a lot to do to achieve equality in this industry. We want to make sure the property and construction sectors are appealing for young women from diverse backgrounds, so they know they can enter an industry where they will find support and an equitable environment.

“In a sector where teamwork and relationships are key, Women in Property is a great platform to find all types of role models and bring the best out of everyone, celebrate our differences, and connect each other with opportunities.

“The committees in Scotland are working hard to prepare lots of great events for this year, many of which will be CPD accredited, with an abundance of site visits, networking, discussion panels, personal development coaching, health and wellbeing events and much more. I encourage anyone with good ideas to come forward to the committee members and use this great networking platform to promote the sustainable and social change we all want to see in the industry.”

In addition to its ‘in person’ events, Women in Property runs a national webinar programme, also with CPD accreditation on selected topics.  It will be holding its first national conference in twenty years, in Bristol on 20 April under the banner Women leading the future.  Sessions, will include Inclusive Design and Public Realm, Social Anthropology, Mentoring and the Psychology of Business, as well as a panel discussion, followed by dinner, a live band and all open to both members and non-members of all genders.
