TLT has announced record annual financial results for 2024/2025, with revenue rising to £187m, adding over 400% growth in turnover in six years in Scotland.

This exceptional growth reflects the success of TLT’s progressive vision of driving sustainable financial development through strategic investment in people, technology, and delivering a market-leading workplace of opportunity.

Strategic growth in Scotland

The firm has expanded its presence in Scotland, tripling its Edinburgh footprint with a move to the state-of-the-art New Clarendon building on George Street. This news space reflects TLT’s commitment to sustainability and wellbeing, with features designed to support neurodiverse colleagues, promote active travel, and enhance collaboration.

TLT also strengthened its footprint in Glasgow, expanding its workspace in Cadworks – one of the UK’s most sustainable office buildings – by providing an additional 60 desks and increasing headcount by 50%.

Investing in talent

In response to client demand, TLT has made significant investments in Scotland with key senior appointments including partners Colin Brown (Real Estate), Keith Anderson (Commercial Dispute Resolution), Euan Cluness (Banking) and Nick Shenken (Future Energy), alongside Legal Directors Barbara Mayne (Real Estate), Fiona Armour (Real Estate), and Katherine Doran (Project, Infrastructure and Construction). These additions have strengthened TLT’s capabilities across high-growth sectors such as financial services and future energy, reinforcing its reputation as a go-to strategic adviser for complex transactional and regulatory work.

Delivering for clients across Scotland

Growth in Scotland has been driven by a number of high-profile matters including advising:

  • the Energy Saving Trust partnership to improve energy efficiency for UK Airbnb hosts
  • the licensing for flagship events at the Murrayfield Stadium, including the recent Oasis concert

Further cementing its leadership in the clean energy space, TLT was ranked in the top ten most influential firms in clean energy M&A worldwide in Clean Energy Pipeline’s 2025 Clean Energy Legal League Table. The firm played a key role in enabling renewable energy deployment across the world. Nationally, this has included advising on the completion of 40 renewable energy projects, each of which is playing a key part in supporting the UK’s energy transition. In Scotland, these have included advising on global merchant Uniper on its securing of a 46.2 MW wind project from Energiekontor,

The firm’s Corporate team in Scotland has also led the way in employee ownership, advising on 75% of all Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) deals in the country in recent years, including acting for United Auctions on its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). This transaction is believed to be the first agricultural EOT in Scotland.

One of the most innovative firms in Europe

After being named one of the most innovative law firms in Europe by the Financial Times, TLT has onboarded the latest integrated technologies across its national network – with Scotland playing a key role in the transformation. Central to this has been the introduction of Legora, the collaborative AI platform for lawyers, which has streamlined complex processes and enhanced efficiency for both clients and the firm. Spearheaded by TLT’s award-winning FutureLaw team, Legora is being rolled out to multiple teams across the firm, with a bespoke training and adoption programme.
