Pegasus Group, has announced the opening of a new headquarters in Edinburgh. Located in the growing business district of Haymarket, the office will act as a springboard for the expansion of services across Scotland, underpinning fresh ambitions for the region.

The move follows the appointment of Jamie Scott as the Director of Planning in Scotland. Having joined from WSP earlier this year, Jamie is spearheading Pegasus Group’s new regional initiative, which will see the multidisciplinary business increase the number of ongoing projects in Scotland, whilst expanding its offering of technical expertise and services, including planning, heritage and environmental consultancy.

With seventy five percent of onshore wind capacity in the UK located in the region and the Scottish Government currently planning to accelerate housebuilding, Pegasus Group plans to capitalise on recent developments in the market and will focus on building its pipeline of housing, leisure & tourism, and renewable energy projects.

Having worked on numerous renewables projects in recent years, as well as strategic residential, commercial and retail development, the business plans to build upon its legacy in Scotland and double the size of the team in the region over the next three years.

Commenting on the move, Pegasus Group’s Director of Planning, Jamie Scott, said: “Having always remained committed to the UK’s renewable energy development, Pegasus Group is perfectly positioned to support Scotland with an enhanced range of development services as it looks to accelerate the delivery of new projects.

“Our team has a deep level of expertise when it comes to offering crucial development advice and site assessments for environmentally important projects, and we are thrilled to be working in the region at such an exciting time of growth.”

Also commenting, the CEO of Pegasus Group, Douglas McCormick, said: “Our commitment to Scotland mirrors the growth that we anticipate will continue in the region’s renewable energy and housing markets.

“It’s a burgeoning market, and in the months and years ahead we’re keen to bring our full offering of services to Scotland, including infrastructure development, landscape design, and large scale urban masterplanning. I look forward to seeing Jamie build on this long-term ambition and grow the Scottish business from the new office.”
