Donald McLaren, Managing Director, McLaren Packaging wins EY Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year, transformational leader.

EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is a unique global programme that recognises entrepreneurial achievement among individuals and companies that demonstrate vision, leadership and success — and work to improve the quality of life in their communities, countries and around the world.

Judges named McLaren as a winner on account of his achievements in developing and transforming the fortunes of the business over a number of years.

Commenting on the accolade, McLaren said: “I am both delighted and humbled to be recognised with such a prestigious award. My efforts have been supported by the talented and passionate team of over 300 across McLaren Packaging. This is very proud moment for me and the team.”

McLaren Packaging, established in 1979, has grown to sales of over £45 million across a wide range of paper-based packaging, primarily for the UK drinks sector.

Employing over 300 and operating across seven sites in Central Scotland, McLaren Packaging is a privately owned business supplying independent operators through to large multi-national organisations, leading on innovation, quality and service.
