Ride-hailing giant Lyft has announced the acquisition of Glasgow-headquartered TBR Global Chauffeuring in a deal worth £83 million, as the company moves to expand its presence in the premium transport market.

TBR, one of the world’s leading luxury chauffeur service providers, operates in more than 3,000 cities across 120 countries. It is widely recognised for providing bespoke executive travel and event transport to major corporations and global clients, including Fortune 500 firms and investment banks.

The deal, valued at approximately $110 million, will see TBR continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership team, preserving its “white-glove” service reputation. Lyft said the acquisition combines its global technology platform with TBR’s service excellence and industry expertise, strengthening its position in the growing luxury travel sector, estimated to be worth $54 billion worldwide.

Lyft stated that the move reflects its “disciplined approach to profitable growth”, adding that it aims to enhance high-end ground transportation while maintaining the personal touch that defines the TBR experience.

Founded in 2012, Lyft now operates across six continents, offering rideshare, private hire, chauffeur, and micromobility services. The company confirmed the acquisition will not affect its third-quarter financial results.
