LOGAINAIR, the UK’s largest regional airline, has appointed Chris Gemmell as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Set to commence his role on March 1, 2024, Gemmell will lead the Finance, HR, and IT functions at the airline’s Glasgow headquarters.

Bringing a wealth of experience in finance and the travel sector, Gemmell most recently served as the Finance Director for the Caledonian Sleeper rail operation. His background includes roles in Serco’s transport and healthcare divisions, and he initiated his career with Clydesdale Bank, which coincidentally has a longstanding relationship with Loganair.

Gemmell takes over from the previous CFO, David Bowden, who has transitioned to a new role outside the aviation industry, allowing him to work closer to his home in Cheshire.

Loganair’s Chief Executive, Jonathan Hinkles, expressed delight in welcoming Gemmell to the team, highlighting the exciting period ahead as Loganair nears completion of its fleet renewal program.

“We’re delighted to welcome Chris to the Loganair team, and very much look forward to him taking up the post in March. He joins at an exciting time as we work to maximise the benefits from the imminent completion of Loganair’s fleet renewal program, setting up the airline for the next generation,” said Hinkles.

Chris Gemmell also shared his enthusiasm for joining Loganair, stating, “I’m delighted to be joining Loganair as CFO and to be moving into the airline industry with such an iconic brand. I very much look forward to working with the team to drive continued success into the future.”For further information about Loganair, visit Loganair.
