Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, today confirmed that Chief Commercial Officer, Luke Lovegrove will step down in 2026, following a long-planned transition as he prepares to pursue new opportunities outside Scotland.
The airline expressed its gratitude for Luke’s significant contribution and the extended notice he provided, which has enabled a smooth succession process. With two highly experienced leaders now guiding the commercial function, Loganair is well-positioned for a full and seamless handover ahead of Luke’s departure.
Ronnie Matheson joins the Loganair Executive Team as Chief Commercial Officer with effect from Monday 24th November.
Ronnie’s aviation career began in Glasgow with British Airways in 1998, experience which spans 25 years and includes senior roles at leading aviation brands, including easyJet, Flybe, and most recently Blue Islands.
Ronnie brings a wealth of industry expertise and commercial acumen to Loganair at a pivotal moment for the airline. His leadership will be instrumental in driving Loganair’s commercial strategy and supporting its continued growth and commitment to resilient regional flying, connecting communities across the UK.

Most recently, Loganair announced new routes to support the people of Jersey, offering vital connectivity to the UK mainland. The new Jersey routes include Exeter, Bristol and Southampton.
Earlier this year, Loganair was ranked second in the Which? annual customer survey of short-haul airlines, achieving a 72% customer score. The airline received a five-star rating for customer service and a four-star rating for booking, boarding, and cleanliness.
Loganair was also named the most punctual airline for UK arrivals and departures in Q2 2025 by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, with 86% of its flights arriving and departing on time.
