Matteo Inzaina and Steven Spear take on new roles with Kitchin Group

KITCHIN Group has announced a duo of new appointments as the business continues to grow and invest in its people.

Renowned and respected hospitality virtuoso, Steven Spear has taken the helm as Restaurant Manager at The Kitchin, as his predecessor, Matteo Inzaina steps into a new role as Training & Operations Manager for Kitchin Group.  Steven has a stellar CV, and an appreciation of first-class hospitality, having worked in some of Scotland’s leading restaurants.  Astute in the art of service from a young age, Steven grew up at family-run restaurant The Three Chimneys in Skye.  

Commenting on the new appointment, Chef Owner Tom Kitchin said: “Steven has been a great appointment for us.  With his standard of excellence in the daily running of a restaurant and his passion for teamwork and attention to detail, our guests are already encouraged by a warm welcome from a familiar face in the very best of Scottish hospitality.”

Matteo Inzaina, who has been Restaurant Manager at Edinburgh’s Michelin starred, The Kitchin for more than five years, remains with the company as Training and Operations Manager for the award-winning independent, family run restaurant group.  Joining the management team in leading The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie, The Bonnie Badger, and newly opened KORA by Tom Kitchin, Matteo will work with the teams to develop and direct a group training academy, with a focus on front of house excellence, teamwork, learning and leadership, across all areas of the business.

Matteo brings with him a wealth of expertise in understanding Kitchin Group brand and venues, as well as enviable experience gained from classical hospitality training in Italy, roles at leading hotels along the Italian Riviera, as well as experience garnered at Gordon Ramsay Group and The Lanesborough in London.

Chef Tom Kitchin continued: “We’re looking forward to watching Matteo flourish in this new role with us, and we’re also really excited about driving forward an even stronger programme of training for our entire team – both in the kitchen and front of house.  We have such a wealth of knowledge across our team as well as our suppliers and partners, and our priority is working with Matteo to share that knowledge across the business.”
