Ferguson Marine’s boardroom is set for change as Duncan Anderson steps into the role of Interim Chair. Anderson, a Chartered Marine Engineer, has served as a Non-Executive Director since March and boasts more than forty years’ industry experience.
Reflecting on his tenure, outgoing Chair Andrew Miller stated, “It has been a privilege to serve Ferguson Marine during such an important time for the business. I am confident that Duncan Anderson brings the skills and industry knowledge required to help guide the shipyard as it moves forward.”
Graeme Thomson, CEO of Ferguson Marine, expressed gratitude for Miller’s contributions: “We thank Andrew Miller for steering Ferguson Marine through a period of structural change and helping to secure key contracts, notably with BAE Systems. Much has been achieved under his guidance.”
Anderson commented on his appointment: “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to working with the board and management through this transition period. My priority is to maintain progress on our shipbuilding projects and to ensure continuity while the search for a permanent chair takes place.”
The shipyard continues to focus on major deliverables, particularly the MV Glen Rosa, and Anderson is expected to leverage his broad expertise, having overseen the build of more than one hundred vessels in his career. The business remains committed to fulfilling defence contracts and positioning itself for growth in the sector.
