PROFESSIONAL Independent Wealth Advice (PIWA), a new advisory firm formed by ex-abrdn Advice Director Neil Messenger, is to join the Sandringham Financial Partners network (Sandringham).

Messenger, who will be CEO, launches PIWA today, citing experienced talent, a business that recognises the value of its people, that when backed up by innovative technology seeks to deliver genuinely outstanding independent wealth advice to clients.

Before founding PIWA, Messenger spent two years as Advice Director at abrdn Financial Planning. Prior to that, he was a Partner and National Head of Wealth Advisory with Grant Thornton for seventeen-years, providing wealth advice to Private Clients and Companies.

Messenger is also seeking a further sixteen advisers to join PIWA, who will all be stakeholders in the business.

Sandringham is a fast-growing provider of independent financial advice in the UK, with over 190 IFAs advising on assets of more than £3 billion for over 15,000 clients. Sandringham is part of M&G Wealth and has benefited from wider support – doing more non-client tasks for each adviser – affording more time and resource to focus on client activity.

Neil Messenger, Chief Executive of PIWA said:

“I have seldom met an adviser who is not enthusiastic about their clients, but it can be challenging to fully support them and deliver the ‘wow’ factor to client service.

“We will enable our advisers to deliver a genuinely outstanding independent wealth advice experience, focused on collaboration, simplicity, accountability, trust, and client-centricity – values I see throughout Sandringham Partners.

“I also want to hear from motivated and passionate advisers who are excited to be stakeholders and part of PIWA. I believe that all our advisers should be stakeholders in the business. We have seen a significant amount of consolidation in the advice sector, with shareholders reaping the rewards from the value created by the advisers. I want to do things differently and believe advisers should share in the value created.

“We offer a flexible working environment, state-of-the-art technology, and ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure they will have the skills, knowledge, support, and all the time they need with their clients to succeed.

“Motivated talented advisers build trusted client relationships that last for many years.”

Tim Grey, Managing Director of Sandringham said:

“With over 30-years of experience in the financial services industry, and a fantastic reputation Neil has built teams of advisers enthusiastic about providing an exceptional client experience.

“We continue to grow the number of advisers in Sandringham, with the support of M&G Wealth, and I am delighted that PIWA, with our shared client-centric values, is joining us.”
