COMMERCIAL real estate firm Colliers is extending its UK Planning team with the recruitment of Lucy Moroney as Senior Planner.

Colliers’ planning team works on a significant number of strategic sites across the UK, including three new garden communities. Lucy will be working with corporate clients helping them to realise the values of their sites and engaging with local authorities on land allocation and emerging local plans. She joins the Edinburgh-based team from Ferguson Planning where she worked across a wide range of sectors including tourism, residential, retail, commercial and heritage. She also previously worked at Iceni Projects in London, and Pegasus Group in Cambridge and was a volunteer for the Yes Planning advocacy group for young people during her studies at Newcastle University.

Anthony Aitken, Head of UK Planning said: “We’re pleased to be welcoming Lucy to our national Planning team. She already has a great foundation in planning consultancy based on her UK wide experience, which will be really beneficial to our clients. She will also get the opportunity to work with our Colliers colleagues across the UK on a wide range of developments for their commercial and residential real estate clients. Like many planning professionals she’s active in trying to positively promote the planning profession via good design and sound placemaking, so she will be a great addition to our team.”

The department, which also includes associate director Holly Gillingham and planner Lenka Scorcova, are active within the planning sector within the Royal Town Planning Institute as well as New London Architecture, Women in Planning and the Scottish Chamber of Commerce.

Lucy added: “I’m looking forward to joining a friendly and experienced team, and to get involved in the interesting projects Colliers undertake across the UK, working on both large strategic development plans as well as niche applications on behalf of corporate clients.”
