BK Plus has announced the addition of four new accountancy practices to its Scottish operation—Walton Kilgour (Perth and Pitlochry), Ian MacFarlane Ltd (Falkirk), JC Wallace (Glasgow), and Bird Simpson (Dundee). These latest acquisitions mark a major step in the firm’s expansion strategy, making it one of the most regionally established SME-focused accountancy firms in Scotland.

Just six months after entering the Scottish market with the acquisitions of Cornerstone Accountants in Glasgow and FourM in Dundee, BK Plus now operates seven offices across five key Scottish regions: Glasgow, Dundee, Falkirk, Perth, and Pitlochry. The firm has more than 150 staff in Scotland alone and over 600 across the UK.

This growth is part of a national strategy to provide practical, expert support to SMEs—delivered through local teams with deep ties to the communities they serve.

Shaun Knight, CEO of BK Plus, said: “Our strength has always come from our regional teams. We believe in local people delivering local services to local businesses. These new additions bring a wealth of experience and relationships, built over years of trusted service. By investing in Scotland, we’re backing that belief with action—and we’re not slowing down.”

Each of the newly acquired firms shares BK Plus’ values: long-standing client relationships, practical advice, and a commitment to personal service. They bring with them hundreds of SME clients across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, hospitality, and professional services.

Graham McLelland, Partner at BK Plus in Dundee—who joined BK Plus six months ago—said:
“Since becoming part of BK Plus, the benefits to our clients have been clear. We still provide the same trusted service, but now with access to a national network of specialists and services. It’s the best of both worlds. I’m looking forward to working alongside our new colleagues and continuing to grow in the region.”

The expansion also includes bringing together the firm’s existing Dundee team with Bird Simpson, less than four miles apart. The integration will create one of the largest accountancy teams in Dundee, offering enhanced resources to local businesses.

Kenneth McEwen Partner at BK Plus Glasgow office, said “This is a significant step forward for our team and our clients. Joining BK Plus means we can continue offering the personal service we’re known for, while giving our clients access to broader expertise across the UK.”

BK Plus’s Scottish footprint now spans Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Pitlochry, and Falkirk. The firm remains focused on growing in partnership with like-minded practices, expanding its local-first approach throughout Scotland.
