Bulk handling and storage systems specialist, Abdie Solutions has announced a major expansion as they move to new headquarters five times the size of their previous site. The move is backed by a six-figure investment, includes new staff appointments and the launch of a new subsidiary, BD Plasma.

Founded in 2011, Perth based Abdie Solutions has steadily grown, designing and delivering bespoke engineering solutions for clients such as Whyte & Mackay, Glenmorangie, Scottish Leather Group and Hendrick’s Gin. For Hendrick’s, the team developed a specialist system to remove botanicals from liquid.

This latest investment marks a significant commitment to the company’s long-term future, with Managing Director Stewart Todd describing the expansion as a as a strategic evolution of the business driven by growing customer demand.

Stewart said: “We’ve always been driven by solving real world problems for our clients, and that means evolving with their needs. The new premises give us the space to scale up operations and invest in our people and equipment. With the addition of BD Plasma, we can now offer a fast, accurate plasma cutting service that not only supports our in-house projects, such as enabling quicker turnaround on ductwork fabrication, but also provides a valuable resource to third parties, whether they require custom components for their own fabrication or bespoke signage for retail spaces.

“It’s a big step forward for us, but it’s built on the same foundations as Abdie, careful attention to detail, strong relationships, and solutions that stand the test of time.”

The company’s expanded workshop and manufacturing space has already welcomed two new staff members, with further recruitment underway to meet growing demand.

Abdie’s capabilities in areas such as grain drying, silo design, draff handling, and conveyor systems have made them a key partner for businesses looking to boost capacity, reduce waste and increase onsite efficiency. The significantly larger premises and addition of BD Plasma will enable the company to deliver a wider range of solutions and meet growing client demand more effectively.

Stewart added: “We’re excited about the future. This is a transformative moment for the business. The scale of our investment reflects our belief in the team, the market, and the value we can continue delivering for our clients. We’re growing, but our focus stays the same, personal service, quality engineering, and building long term partnerships.”
