GLOBAL real estate firm, Avison Young has announced that Richard Cottingham has joined the Scottish Land & Development team, assuming the role of Director.
A qualified chartered surveyor, Cottingham brings over 16 years of experience within the Scottish real estate market, specialising in residential development land, disposals and acquisitions, transactions, development appraisals, and viability assessments.
Cottingham’s extensive experience working with public and private sector clients, including the Scottish Government, Persimmon Homes, abrdn, Barratt Homes, and Aberdeen Standard Investments, makes him a valuable asset for the Avison Young team.
In his new role as Director, Cottingham will work alongside Stewart Taylor, Managing Director for Edinburgh, building Avison Young’s land and development presence across Scotland with a specific focus on the residential sector and working on existing instructions including Central Quay in Glasgow.
Cottingham joins the firm from Savills, where he was an Associate Director in the Development Team. Prior to this, Cottingham was a Senior Surveyor at DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) for seven years.
