BURGES Salmon has achieved a Gold Award at the UK Social Mobility Awards 2022, having been Highly Commended in the ‘Community Programme of the Year’ category.
The UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMOs) recognise organisations that are prioritising social mobility, through recruitment processes and progression programmes, outreach within the local community, or by developing innovative ways to create change.
Burges Salmon’s award was in recognition of its ‘Working with Schools’ programme. In 2021, the firm successfully adapted the programme which had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The firm transformed the programme so that it was effective as both a remote and a hybrid model, meaning that we could continue supporting those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
The 2022 awards received the highest number of entries since they were launched in 2017. Entrants came from a range of industries including education, finance, law, media and retail. Business professionals from all over the UK attended the Awards Fundraising Gala in London to watch as the winners were announced.

The winners of the 2022 SOMOs were announced at an Awards Fundraising Gala held at The Royal Lancaster London Hotel on Thursday 13 October.
