Heike Winter, based on the Isle of Harris, has been honoured as one of the UK’s most inspiring female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain’s prestigious ‘f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100’ campaign.

Heike, the founder of The Hebridean Mustard Company and its popular brand Mustheb, launched her business in 2017. She has now been profiled as one of 100 trailblazing female entrepreneurs from across the country, celebrated for their multi-faceted achievements and contributions to their communities.

The f:Entrepreneur ‘#IAlso100’ campaign shines a spotlight on female founders who lead purpose-driven businesses while managing a variety of other responsibilities, such as volunteering, mentoring, and community support.

On being included in the #IAlso100 line-up, Heike shared her excitement:
“I’m over the moon to be recognised alongside incredible women who are driving change through their passion, community, and purpose-led businesses. This recognition not only celebrates my entrepreneurial achievements and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities but also my commitment to organic food, sustainability, and community impact.

“As the first female entrepreneur from the Isle of Harris, I am proud to represent the Western Isles and hope to inspire other women to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses. And if I can be a role model for just one young girl, it’s all worth it.”

The f:Entrepreneur campaign, launched in 2017 by Small Business Britain, aims to highlight the significant impact of female business owners across the UK. It provides inspiration and role models for the broader small business community.

Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain, praised this year’s line-up, saying:
“It’s wonderful to have Heike from The Hebridean Mustard Company feature in this year’s #IAlso100. All of the female entrepreneurs in this year’s line-up are simply phenomenal.

“It is vital that we recognise the impressive contribution of the UK’s female business owners and do all we can to support and encourage them throughout their entrepreneurial journey, from start-up to scale-up. As well as making a huge economic contribution to the UK, female entrepreneurs also create a wider positive impact that ripples across society and local communities too.”
