The external audit team of Wbg, one of Scotland’s leading independent specialist full-service accountancy firms, is recruiting 10 graduates to its burgeoning team this summer in response to significant growth – double the annual intake of five graduates it has recruited over the last three years.
From a team of 28 in 2022, Wbg’s external audit department will number 40 staff members over the coming months.
That recruitment has been made possible by the fact that the firm’s external audit fee income has grown by some 45% over the last three years and is forecast to reach £2.85 million by March 2026.
Scott Gillon, external audit partner at Wbg, said: “This summer we are doubling our graduate intake from five to 10 as we seek to grow our own talent and deliver on the opportunity to develop our external audit services in the market over the next few years.”
Many public and third sector organisations, as well as private companies, turn to Wbg for their external auditing requirements. By providing a robust challenge to clients’ operations and systems, Wbg uses external auditing to add value to organisations’ financial management and operating procedures by going beyond the statutory compliance they are required to make.
