Over 1 million products were bottled during October, with additional capacity available to increase production levels for future demand.

The investment has been announced as latest figures reveal that there are almost 3 million people now vaping in the UK, and the market is growing fast.

Doug Mutter, director at Vaporized, said: “Making this infrastructure investment will ensure we are able to respond to the demands of our customers as we forge ahead with ambitious growth plans.”

The new manufacturing operation is being delivered from its headquarters at Terston House in Edinburgh.

Bringing in the region of 20 new specialist jobs, the product development expertise includes chemists, flavour mixologists and a full production team.

The announcement comes as Vaporized embarks on an ambitious growth plan to treble its store footprint to 300 over the next three years. The vaping specialist will double its staff numbers to 1000 to support the expansion strategy.

Doug Mutter said: “There is mounting evidence that Vaping could become a key weapon in the NHS’s stop smoking strategy, with Public Health England continuing to support its message that Vaping is at least 95 per cent less harmful than smoking conventional tobacco cigarettes.

“From this increased knowledge and awareness, the vaping market will continue to grow as increasing numbers of smokers recognise its benefits in helping people to make the switch from smoking.

“Investing in our manufacturing and product development expertise gives us a real competitive advantage and the ability to bring our customers the most comprehensive range of quality-approved products.

“By strengthening our end-to-end operational structure and maintaining a commitment to consumer education, we can forge ahead with confidence and truly cement our position as the UK’s leading vaping specialist.”

The company also revealed that Vaporized is now developing and manufacturing products on behalf of major US brands such as Arc Distro, Bad Drip and Charlies Chalkdust.
